The publication of the results of the study, which investigated the efficacy and safety of drisapersen given for 48 weeks, confirms the positive outcome of the DEMAND II study, which met its primary endpoint, with no reported major safety concerns. (more…)

Clinical and Business Development expert re-joins the Company

(NASDAQ: RNA), the biopharmaceutical company focusing on RNA-modulating therapeutics for rare diseases with high unmet need, today announced that an affiliate of CureDuchenne, a US national nonprofit organization dedicated to finding a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), will provide Prosensa with up to €5 million by means of convertible promissory notes to support the company and accelerate the development and patient access of much needed DMD therapies. The closing of €4.5 million of the notes is contingent upon specified milestones in the advancement of drisapersen and the Company’s other exon skipping candidates in Prosensa’s DMD portfolio. (NASDAQ: RNA) the Dutch biopharmaceutical company focusing on rare diseases with a high unmet medical need, today confirmed that on July 3 (one year following the closing of its IPO), it filed a shelf registration statement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. The filing of the registration statement is not an offering to sell securities and is intended to enable Prosensa the flexibility to raise up to $150 million in one or more offerings while the shelf registration statement is effective, if the company chooses to do so. The specific terms of any securities that the Company may offer, if it chooses to do so, will be determined at the time of such offering and will be described in a separately filed prospectus supplement at the time of such offering. The shelf registration statement also includes the shares of Prosensa’s three largest shareholders. There are no immediate plans to offer or sell securities under the shelf registration statement.
